Meet Our Founder: Callum Bir
Callum’s journey began in the 1990s when he studied Computer Science and Computer Systems Engineering at RMIT University in Melbourne. His career rapidly evolved as he took on leadership roles that would shape his visionary outlook:
Microsoft Asia Pacific: Here, Callum was pivotal in establishing startup incubators and accelerators, collaborating with innovation-based partners and startups in AI and digital health.
Oracle: Starting as a Technical Solutions expert, Callum advanced to become Senior Director and General Manager for Healthcare in Asia Pacific. During this time, he was instrumental in designing and implementing large-scale healthcare data integrations and Electronic Health Records (EHR) across Singapore, Australia, and the region.
Deloitte: As Director for Health, he led digital health advisory services, working closely with public sector organizations on critical EHR implementations.
The Birth of Ausbiz Consulting
Armed with deep industry expertise, Callum founded Ausbiz Consulting in Sydney, Australia. The company began as a modest venture, gathering a group of talented young professionals dedicated to building innovative solutions. Under Callum’s leadership, Ausbiz not only pioneered one of Australia’s first AI incubators and accelerator programs but also launched the “Run AI” ESVLP Fund—helping numerous AI startups build their MVPs and secure strategic partnerships globally, particularly in the USA.
Empowering Through Education: The Evolution of Our LMS
In 2018, facing a significant skills gap in Cloud Computing, AI, and general development, Callum and the core team built a robust Learning Management System (LMS). Initially designed to empower employees and contractors working with some of Australia’s largest clients—such as federal and state governments, Telstra, and Optus—this platform quickly became a cornerstone for training:
- 2,000+ graduates trained by 2022, with many securing roles in global tech giants, Big 4 firms, and major enterprises.
- A hands-on, industry-relevant curriculum evolving from AWS and Azure Cloud fundamentals to specialized courses in AWS Cyber Security, Data Engineering, Data Pipelines, and Full Stack Development with Next.js and Vercel Cloud.
Expanding Our Reach: Ausbiz Institution and Global Partnerships
In 2022, recognizing the impact of our training programs, we launched the Ausbiz Education—a dedicated service line designed to scale our educational offerings to the wider community. This vision took a major leap forward in 2023 when we partnered with the Education Centre of Australia (ECA). Through this collaboration, we introduced:
4-week bootcamps hosted on the ECA campus in partnership with leading universities like Swinburne University and Victoria University.
By 2024, our university partnerships had expanded internationally, reaching students in the Philippines, India, and the USA.
